Avalon Residential Service
Client Group and Admission Criteria
Avalon provides supported community based living accommodation for up to six adults with a primary diagnosis of learning disability and who may also have associated mental health problems.
Similar to Holland House, it also provides a step-down service for patients from our independent hospitals who are ready to move on to more independent living as part of their rehabilitation program.
The Service and Staff Team
Avalon’s aim is to rehabilitate service users to full community living by providing support and facilitating in the development of individual skills through risk management, developing a positive self image and increasing confidence. By extending their network of friends and colleagues, they are able to develop the skills to enable them to lead a full and interesting lifestyle.
Avalon offers therapeutic and structured programmes to assist in this rehabilitation process by enabling service users to access further education and practical and meaningful work placements.
The staffing team is responsive to the changing needs of service users and will fluctuate accordingly to support those who need it. They are motivated and experienced in dealing with the diverse needs of this client group.
