Lifespan
Overview
Within MHC’s Lifespan services, we aim to provide a friendly, relaxed and respectful atmosphere; something that the home managers and staff team promote at all times. Adopting this professional but relaxed approach enables us to enrich the lives of the individual’s within these services.
The Service & Staff Team
The staff team aim to provide the appropriate and necessary care and support to service users to enable them to enjoy a meaningful and interesting social life. The strong staff team within these services has many years experience working with this vulnerable client group and are fully supported by MHC’s highly experienced multi-disciplinary team. This comprises of a; Consultant Psychiatrist, Clinical Psychologist, Clinical nurse Specialist and Occupational Therapist.
Individual care plans and risk management strategies seek to maximize opportunities for this client group to ‘live life to the full’.
The team helps to develop and promote daily living skills and community participation and provides a sense of continuity and stability for the service users. Staff utilize non verbal communication styles such as Makaton and pictorial boards, to overcome any communication difficulties that service users may have.
Residential Services:
Grove Hall
Grove Hall embraces the principle of 'a home for life' philosophy by providing a service for 21 adults with learning disabilities, whose age exceeds 50. Service users are supported to maintain their own physical health using primary care services, district nursing services and specialised services such as neurology.
Acrefield House
Acrefield House is a mixed gender home registered to provide care for 12 adults, aged 18-65. People admitted to Acrefield House will have a moderate to severe learning disability, and may also have additional physical disabilities or mental health needs.
