Acrefield House is a spacious, detached home with a large rear garden situated in the quiet residential area of Prenton, yet within easy reach of all major services and leisure facilities.

Situated on the Wirral Peninsular, Prenton has good transport links via the motorway network and is only a few miles from the coast, with a wealth of local beauty spots. Historic Chester is 20 miles away and Liverpool, the City of Culture for 2008, is close by.



Client Group and Admission Criteria

Acrefield House is registered to provide care for up to twelve adults who have a moderate to severe learning disability, but who may have additional physical disabilities or mental health needs.

Acrefield House provides a real sense of ‘home’ and a family feel for services users.

The Service and Staff Team

The ground floor of Acrefield House is wheelchair accessible and provides all facilities to enable staff to support those with physical disabilities.

Individual care plans and risk management strategies seek to maximise opportunities to ‘live life to the full’ and the contributions that family members and social contacts can make, are welcomed and encouraged.

The staff team use Makaton and pictorial boards to overcome any communication difficulties that service users may have.

Back of Acrefield HouseAcrefield House staff recognise and promote the value and uniqueness of each person and seek to provide a holistic service.

The team help to develop and promote daily living skills and community participation. They provide a sense of continuity and stability for service users.

The staff team at Acrefield House receive comprehensive training specific to the needs of this particular group of service users. This is underpinned by the support from the clinical specialists within MHC.
