New Hall Independent Hospital is a 25 bed all male service, which consists of four wards including a 2 bed bungalow designed for more independent living.  New Hall is situated in the village of Ruabon, near Wrexham.

Client Group & Admission Criteria

New Hall Independent Hospital provides a rehabilitation and recovery model of care and treatment for 25 male patients, aged 18-65 years, who have functional mental health disorders and mild learning disabilities. These individuals may be leaving long term acute or secure services but are not yet ready to return direct to their communities. The service also supports individuals who may have a co-existing secondary condition such as behavioural difficulties/challenging behaviours, drug and alcohol issues, personality disorder and forensic needs.

Admission to New Hall is primarily based on an initial 12 week admission period which allows the Multi-disciplinary team to undertake a detailed assessment of the individual patients needs before determining the most appropriate long term treatment plan.

New Hall offers a Welsh ‘step-down’ service to meet these needs, and admits individuals on an informal or formal basis under the Mental Health Act 1983.
